Booking Brendan

Reliable music. Minimal fuss. A room that feels right.

I believe a good live musician should do more than play songs.

The musician should understand the room, respect the business, show up prepared, and know when to lead the energy and when to stay out of the way.

My goal is simple: make live music an asset to your venue, not another thing you have to manage.

I Show Up Ready

I arrive approximately 30 minutes before performance time so that when the clock says it's time to start, I'm ready to play.

I bring my own PA system, including a compact mixer that allows me to adjust volume and tone to suit the room. If your venue has an in-house system, I'm happy to work through it when appropriate.

And because things occasionally go sideways, I carry backup power. I've even planned for the rare occasion when the evening unexpectedly moves to backup generators or to candlelight.

I Play for the Room

My job isn't simply to finish a setlist. It's to pay attention.

If the room is quiet and people are having dinner, I'll complement the atmosphere. If the room is engaged and wants more, I'll keep the music moving.

I will always play through the agreed-upon end time, regardless of whether the room is full. And when the room is still enjoying itself at the end, I'm happy to keep playing when it makes sense.

The vibe in the room is the most important part of my performance.

A Lot of Music, Very Few Breaks

For a typical three-set engagement, I take one break between the first and second set, generally less than ten minutes.

The rest of the time, I'm playing.

I charge by the gig rather than by the hour, so there is no incentive to stretch breaks or watch the clock.

The goal is simple: more music for the people who came to hear it.

A Familiar Songbook With a Little Something Extra

I'm a solo acoustic guitarist, and approximately 90% of my repertoire consists of recognizable songs tailored to a broad audience.

The other 10% is original music.

Those original songs give regular customers and people who follow my music something new to discover, while the familiar repertoire makes sure everyone in the room has something they know.

I think that balance is important.

Simple Pricing

I charge a competitive flat rate for the engagement rather than an hourly rate.

That gives the venue a predictable cost and gives me the freedom to focus on the room rather than the clock.

I generally cap an engagement at four hours on the front end, but I'm happy to extend the performance when the room, the venue, and the evening call for it.

Payment can be made by cash, check, or Venmo.

I Am Built for Repeat Business

I typically perform approximately ten engagements per quarter at venues throughout New England.

Every venue I've performed at has subsequently invited me back.

I also have a small but growing following of people who will come out specifically to see me, depending on the venue, location, and timing.

I'm particularly interested in building long-term relationships with venues rather than treating every performance as a one-off.

Flexible When Your Calendar Gets Complicated

I am happy to play holidays, off-nights, shoulder-season dates, and other times when filling a calendar can be difficult.

Sometimes the best night for live music isn't Friday or Saturday.

I'm interested in those nights, too.

Where I Fit Best

I'm particularly well suited for:

  • Patios and outdoor spaces

  • Breweries

  • Wineries

  • Restaurants

  • Bars and pubs

  • Casual social spaces

  • Holiday events

  • Off-night programming

  • Venues where live music should complement the room rather than overpower it

My music is intended to be part of the experience—not the entire experience.

People should be able to have a conversation, order another drink, enjoy their dinner, and still find themselves singing along when the right song comes on.

My Philosophy

Show up early.
Bring everything I need.
Play the whole time.
Read the room.
Know when to turn it up.
Know when to get out of the way.
Leave people wanting to have me back.

That's what I think a good night of live music should look like.
